In your opinion, what is THE best spelling curriculum available?
2008年5月16日 · I had tried Spelling Power and Sequential Spelling with my very bad speller previously, and while I think they are okay programs, I just didn't see the long term retention that I've seen with Spelling Mastery. I also think the logic of SM just can't be beat. I think there are placement tests on the SRA site. Let me know if you have more questions.

2011年1月12日 · He is also working through Type to Learn at the same time. Type to Learn isn't spelling, but putting keyboarding and spelling together is working very well. I remember that my own spelling improved when I learned to type, because my fingers became a sort of kinesthetic cue to remembering how to spell words.

The things I want to cover with my son are review of phonics/spelling rules (and not taking several years to do it), syllabication, homophones etc., synonyms/antonyms. All these things I see are covered in Spelling by Sound and Structure and Spellwell.

2010年5月14日 · try donpotter.net lot's of great phonics and spelling resources. he recommends the american spelling book by noah webster. he has three free downloadable versions. i am going to use the non picture version with a copy of The ABC's and all their tricks ($10.00 from amazon). you don't need the second book, but it may be helpful for rules of spelling.

2013年12月31日 · I never purchased spelling workout based on the reviews on this forum. I saw it later on person and I'm glad I didn't bc to me it looked like busywork. The first spelling program I purchased after much research was R&S. didn't stick with it long bc my kids could spell their way through the end of the book already. It was too easy.

These approach can work just fine for some learners, particularly those who are already naturally good spellers and just need to brush up on the rules now and then.
