After the Eternals and Saltburn actor made a cameo in 2022’s The Batman movie — and a five-minute deleted scene that was eventually released online — director Matt Reeves insisted that the brief cameo wasn’t setting up The Batman Part II.

DC Studios chief James Gunn is disputing multiple reports that have percolated across the internet that the studio has been pursuing a TV series starring Barry Keoghan as the Joker, a character the actor originated in a brief cameo in 2022's "The Batman.

Following the success of The Penguin on Max, a new report suggests that Barry Keoghan will get his own Joker series set in Matt Reeves’ The Batman Universe. The villain had a brief scene in the first Batman movie but isn’t confirmed to have a major role in The Batman Part II.
