The NCAA amended the rule penalizing a defense for having 12 men on the field after Oregon head coach Dan Lanning used it to his advantage in the Ducks'

The NCAA issued a rules interpretation that will allow offenses to reset clock if 12 or more defenders participate in a play late in a half.

The NCAA is closing the loophole used by Oregon to shave time off the game clock at the end of Saturday's win over Ohio State, when the Ducks intentionally used 12 players on defense.
