John Ratcliffe, the former Texas congressman and director of national intelligence in Trump’s first term, is in line to head the premier all-source spy agency.

President-elect Donald Trump moved to build out his foreign policy team Tuesday, announcing he is nominating Fox News host and Army veteran Pete Hegseth to serve as his defense secretary and former Director of National Intelligence John Ratcliffe to lead the Central Intelligence Agency.

Trump had not nominated anyone for the position of CIA director when the post was made. He nominated John Ratcliffe a day later.
