Alabama has reinforced its commitment toward assisting states left reeling from the devastating one-two punch of Hurricanes Helene and Milton — announcing the deployment of first responders and suppor

Alabama workers will soon be traveling to North Carolina to assist people affected by Hurricane Helene. The Alabama Department of Public Health will be sending a support team made up of nine people to provide assistance across North Carolina following Hurricane Helene.

The devastation of Hurricanes Helene and Milton is still being tallied as a swath of Florida comes to terms with damage from the unusual dual strike of storms in just two weeks. Alabama Department of Transportation workers have deployed to Florida to aid with cleanup and recovery efforts in the aftermath of Hurricanes Milton and Helene.

Gov. Kay Ivey announced the deployment of additional assistance to Florida from the Alabama departments of Transportation and Public Health workers to Florida and North Carolina on Friday.

Hurricane Helene ravaged cities and towns in several states, including North Carolina, last month, and leaders have said it could take years to recover.
