The programs are the first to be approved for any on-ground, three-year, 90-96 credit programs in the U.S., school officials say.

Beginning next fall, undergraduate students at Johnson & Wales University will be able to obtain a bachelor’s degree in select studies within only three years while attending classes in-person — a new approach university officials said will be the first of its kind in the United States.

Johnson and Wales University (JWU) in Providence is now offering three-year bachelor's degree programs in graphic design, computer science, criminal justice and hospitality management.
