Marley Watkins struck late at Rugby Park to earn Kilmarnock a deserved Scottish Premiership victory over low-key Rangers. The forward was too strong for John Souttar as they challenged for a dropping ball in the penalty area and his shot took a slight deflection off the defender on the way past Jack Butland.

Captain Kyle Vassell led the Kilmarnock line with aggression - and a few lovely touches. John Souttar kept Ronaldo & co at bay for Scotland but struggled to deal with the striker's power.

Kilmarnock won 1-0 at home over Rangers on the eighth day of the Scottish Premiership 2024-2025, the goal was scored by Marley Watkins at minute 87'.

Matt: Lacklustre. Sloppy. No Fight, no spirit, but more worryingly, it's not surprising. Club is in a right mess from top to bottom and the only ones who are hurting are us, the fans. Philippe Clement has a major problem, fans starting to lose belief and we've been here far too many times.

Kilmarnock are undefeated in their last five games in the Premiership, their last longer unbeaten streak was from 2 March 2024 to 27 April 2024, a run of six games. Rangers have failed to score in three of their eight games, only St Johnstone (four) and Ross County (four) have failed to score more often in the Premiership this season.
